Welcome to the OpenCon community. With the annual events at the core, OpenCon supports a dynamic, diverse, and growing community that works year round to advance Open Access, Open Education and Open Data. The OpenCon community is open to anyone—not just those who have attended the main conference or a satellite event. Together, we can and are build a conference and, more importantly, a community that makes a difference.
Join our regular community calls to keep up to date with the work being done around the world to advance Open Access, Open Data, and Open Education.
Attend an Event
While the global event is application only, satellite event hosts bring OpenCon to you. See if there is an event near you, or step up with our support to bring OpenCon to you.
Whenever you need input, a helping hand or a signal boost you can find what you need on #OpenCon. Twitter is where the OpenCon community is most active, so we’ll see you there.
For December's OpenCon Community Call (rescheduled from October), we welcome Charlotte Roh, Scholarly Communication Librarian at the University of San Francisco, and Nathan Hall, Director of Digital Imaging and Preservation Services at Virginia Tech. Both served as co-authors on the new ACRL Scholarly Communications Research Agenda, Open and Equitable Scholarly Communications: Creating a More Inclusive Future. We will discuss how we can move to more inclusive and equitable methods of scholarly communications.
If you haven't read it yet, take a look at the Research Agenda here!
This call brings together all librarians working with, or learning about, all things Open--and gives folks an opportunity to connect with each other to better their work and librarianship.
You can find all the proposed agendas and minutes from the Librarian community calls in one place, right here.
