You are cordially invited to attend the OpenCon 2018 satellite event at United Nations Headquarters.
Equity of access to information is the foundation for achieving several of the SDGs, most notably SDG 10, target 10.2 which undertakes to empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status. It is against this backdrop that the conference seeks to create an opportunity for key policy makers and practitioners in the areas of equitable access to information, open data, open educational resources, and open knowledge, to engage and share their ideas on how the SDGs can be implemented.
Core questions to be considered:
- How is equitable access to research information promoting the advancement of science and social inclusion?
- Is open access the appropriate model for IGO information and data dissemination?
- The conference language is English; no interpretation into other official UN languages will be provided.
- No refreshments will be served, but food services are available on site.
Can’t attend the event in person?
